The Lord of the Rings meme is the most involved thing I've worked on in months, which should be a pretty good indication of my artistic ventures lately XD I <3 LotR so very much. Also LOTRO, which is another story entirely. And may be why I haven't been drawing as much *cackles*

I'm really not good at updating this journal, am I? Probably because I don't have much to say. I'm trying to get better at drawing with my tablet, I'm currently crazy about Vocaloid, and my life-long obsession with Lord of the Rings has been rekindled, so you can expect more art in those veins. Also, my wife and I have been watching Bleach and she adores Renji, so I expect I'll be posting some drawings of him. Miku Miku :3

I've been reading, watching, and listening to everything I can find related to Sherlock Holmes for about six months, so obviously I'm going to do some art! I happened upon the screentone idea, and it's so easy and looks kind of period, so I've been using it a lot with Holmes and Watson pictures.

I'm pretty pleased with the picture of Alexi I recently put up. It's the second thing I've colored using the "smudgy smooshy painty" type shading style that I've noticed people are using more than cell shading around here lately (maybe it's just the people I watch). I used a tutorial by getty (https://www.deviantart.com/getty) for the eyes, and I also took advantage of fayrenpickpocket (https://www.deviantart.com/fayrenpickpocket)'s advice in her step-by-step that people need red in their faces in order to look like actual blood-filled humans.

Holy crap, colored things! I bet you can't believe it! Yep. Theo and Anthy and Cai, all in different mediums! Will the craziness never end?
